Sweetfern and Rosemary Bug Repellent
Our Sweetfern & Rosemary Bug Repellent is a natural insect repellent made with simple, skin-loving botanical ingredients. A must-have for outdoor summer fun! Both sweetfern and rosemary and the added essential oils of lemongrass and peppermint have natural insect repelling properties. Sweetfern, a plant native to the US and Canada, grows in abundance around my home here in Maine, embodies the quintessential scent of summer, and is embedded in my memories of the woodlands of my childhood. Sweetfern is similar to the resiny scents of pine and juniper, with a heightened ethereal and heady aroma that is unique to sweetfern (I truly get lost in it). I make a special yearly trip to an island off my home on the Kennebec River, to revere and harvest the sweetfern. I combine it with rosemary from my witch's kitchen garden in the form of a tincture, and when it is ready after 8 weeks of slow infusion, I blend it with the element of water and a safe and minimal amount of essential oils to create this protective blend. Yes, it protects from the nuisance of bugs, but it also makes for an enchanting natural perfume.
Ingredients: sweetfern, rosemary, distilled water, Everclear, essential oils of peppermint and lemongrass
∆ This formulation comes in a 2 oz. amber (to protect from light), BPA-free, shatter-resistant PET plastic bottle with fine mist sprayer. It is airtight and leak-proof.
∆ Essential oils of lemongrass and peppermint are used in this formula.
