Clean and Sustainable

‘In the Wood Botanicals’ is a line of wildcrafted plant-based body care products I’ve made primarily with simple plant allies I’ve reverently and responsibly foraged from the woods, fields, and riverside that surround my home here on the Kennebec River--the home of the Abenaki Kennebis tribe of Swango (Swan Island). Any ingredients that I cannot find in my natural environment come from reputable businesses with sustainable practices: like raw shea butter and essential oils from Mountain Rose Herbs, plant-based soy wax and candle-making supplies from Candle Science, and beeswax purchased from a local beekeeper.

I co-create with the plants to craft small batches of high-quality products made from natural and nourishing ingredients to enrich the body, mind, and soul. I care about the concept of clean skincare, creating botanical preparations that are safe, non-toxic, and free of pesticides and impurities. My product labels offer transparency with simple, natural ingredients that you'll easily recognize, like plants, skin-friendly oils, butters, and beeswax. In the Wood Botanicals creates cruelty-free botanical products that are free of toxic chemicals, phthalates, and parabens.

I also care about doing my part to make sure my business creates a low impact on our precious planet. In The Wood Botanicals uses eco-friendly, sustainable packaging. Our products are packaged in glass bottles, metal tins, and compostable paper tubes. We use recyclable/compostable mailing boxes + envelopes, and packaging and shipping materials. The plastic baggies we use to transport oils are biodegradable. Please reuse, recycle, or compost packaging materials in your order. Let’s work together as stewards of the planet.
