Spilanthes Smoothing Elixir
Expression lines. They are beautiful... the creases that form in your skin when you make facial expressions in response to Life! They are often a symbol of joy. When you're young, these lines disappear once your face returns to a resting position. When you are older, these micro-contractions settle into permanent lines. They are a form of beauty, no doubt, as they tell your story. You can bet that as I age I'll never quit smiling big and forming expressions that reflect my feelings, just as I always have. So many of us, myself included, are not into potentially harmful aesthetic treatments like botox and fillers, so discovering natural beauty care products that actually work is a wonderful thing!
I was excited to learn of a plant called Spilanthes Acmella, popularly known as toothache cress, famous for its powerful analgesic and anesthetic properties that relieve oral pain by relaxing and calming nerve endings. It was also discovered that this amazing, healing plant has the power to relax expression lines on the face.
Recent studies printed in the Molecular Science Journal and SÖFW Journal showed that Spilanthes Acmella extract demonstrated Botox-like action when applied to expression lines on the face (frown lines between the eyebrows, lip lines, forehead lines, crows feet, and laugh lines around the mouth). 75% of users showed results within 28 days. I decided to create a spilanthes serum and give it a try myself. I was pleased to see that I began responding positively to my spilanthes elixir within two weeks' time, with a noticeable softening of the lines that were beginning to form on my forehead and between my eyebrows. After about a month of using it, I could barely see those lines.
To use, simply dab a drop or two onto your fingers and gently massage them into expression lines. A little bit goes a long way and applying the elixir to damp skin is preferable, for better absorption. Avoid getting the product in your eyes, as it can irritate them. I use this spilanthes elixir in the morning and at bed time.
My oil of choice for this infused blend is sweet almond oil, which has a rating of 2 on the comedogenic rating scale, so it won't clog pores. Sweet almond oil is a great source of vitamin E and vitamin A. It contains fatty acids that help your skin look smooth, soft, and free of fine lines.
