Thank you.

After many hours (years) of research, experimentation, test-kitchen trials, and trying out numerous wildcrafted concoctions on my own sensitive skin, I've created this ultra-hydrating, healing herbal and wild mushroom face cream that I'm proud to be able to offer to you. It's literally changed my skin... making it soft, smooth, hydrated, plumped, firm, and glowing. Honestly, no expensive commercial moisturizer that I've tried has ever worked as well on my face as this wildcrafted cream, made solely from natural, plant-based ingredients that you can pronounce and recognize. It absorbs quickly and can be used daily, as a night cream or a day cream, or both. It works well under makeup.

**I highly recommend pairing this face cream with the Nourishing Herbal Serum and Herbal Facial Toner for optimal effects. After cleansing, use toner, then serum, and finish with the face cream.**

This super nourishing face cream is crafted from two key ingredients that were reverently and responsibly foraged from the forest I live in -- field horsetail shoots and chaga mushroom. Field horsetail (the sole survivor of plants in the equisetaceae family, going back 300 million years) grows in abundance on our property. This plant contains high amounts of vegetal silica, which is known to help form collagen and support elastin synthesis, making it the perfect plumping and anti-wrinkle ingredient for cosmetic products. It softens and smoothes skin, has an astringent property that firms and tightens, and has the ability to soothe inflammation and heal acne. Horsetail contains flavonoids and saponins which help rebuild and regenerate skin cells. It also increases circulation, so in addition to healing, it gives skin a healthy glow.

The second key ingredient, chaga wild mushroom, is known as "the mushroom of immortality" and has been used as a skin treatment for centuries. It's what gives this face cream its creamy caramel color. Chaga penetrates deeply, is super hydrating, encourages circulation, heals skin tissue and blemishes, and reverses sun damage by lightening age spots and smoothing skin. This wild, raw mushroom is a potent source of antioxidant enzymes that protect the skin from environmental free radical damage which causes collagen deterioration and wrinkles. It contains a large amount of superoxide dismutase, which is an enzyme in your cells that repairs the damage done by superoxide -- the most common free radical in our bodies. Superoxide dismutase also naturally boosts the production of healthy skin-building cells. Chaga contains the minerals zinc and copper. Zinc encourages clear skin and provides cellular repair, while copper provides it with essential fatty acids and vitamins that repair aging skin and keep it looking young.

**The use of horsetail and chaga may not be safe to use during pregnancy or while breastfeeding. Please see product safety information below.**

∆ My oil of choice for this moisturizer is sweet almond oil, which ranks very low on the non-comedogenic scale and is appropriate for oily, dry, normal, and sensitive skin. Sweet almond oil is naturally full of vitamin E (a powerful antioxidant which fights free radical damage), vitamin A (which can help reduce acne), monounsaturated fatty acids that heal skin and help it retain moisture, and zinc, which encourages clear skin and provides cellular repair.

∆ My emulsifier of choice is emulsifying wax NF, sourced from naturally occurring plant fats and esters. It conforms to the current USP/NF Monograph.

∆ A very small amount of high-quality frankincense essential oil has been added to this product. Frankincense is known to protect and regenerate healthy skin cells, smooth and prevent wrinkles, fight acne, reduce large pores, and tighten skin.

∆ Because this product contains some water content, I use a proper FDA-approved paraben-free, organic preservative at a minuscule but effective 0.5% level to prevent the growth of bacteria, yeast, and mold. It's not like store-bought creams that are loaded with preservatives, so you must follow handling instructions carefully.

***I recommend that you REFRIGERATE the cream.*** Apply with clean, dry fingers to avoid contaminating the product.

∆ This moisturizer comes in a 1oz. amber glass jar (to protect it from light) that is airtight and leak-proof.

Batches of cream may vary slightly in color, depending on the piece(s) of chaga used.

∆ I don't recommend stocking up on this item. A little goes a long way and I make fresh batches frequently.

Important Product Safety Information

*MEDICAL DISCLAIMER* It is important to consult with a qualified healthcare practitioner before using our herbal products (or any herbal product), especially if you are pregnant, nursing, have any medical conditions, are taking ANY medications (prescription or over-the-counter), or if you have food or plant allergies.

**Note** Silica (contained in horsetail) can cause skin irritation for a small number of people. It's found in bentonite clay masks and is widely used in mineral makeup, so if you have a known reaction to either of these types of products, it's probably best to avoid this product. I myself have sensitive skin, and do not react to it. Also, if you are among the small percentage of people who are allergic to mushrooms, you should not use this product.

**Please note that research shows internal use of horsetail and chaga is not recommended during pregnancy and there is not enough research to support whether or not they are safe to use internally during breastfeeding. Because it is not certain how much is absorbed through the skin via topical application, it is best to be cautious and avoid using this face cream if you are pregnant or breastfeeding; or you can check with a qualified healthcare practitioner first.**
